Of course readers won’t understand what truly happened in the previous timeline because the manhwa covered up all the things that made Ines look bad. Most people here probably thinks Ines story with the painter was boy meets girl, fell in love and runaway together. That is not the truth. Ines willfully chose an innocent stranger who had absolutely nothing to do with her and went to his bedroom one night and dubcon him. This is what’s portrayed in ep11 but in such a vague way that manhwa folks have no clue this is the reality. Look at her sitting on top of him and her face was emotionless and cold while he was weeping under her.
Basically, Ines threw her family under the bus after choosing Oscar herself 10 yrs before. She just woke up from regression, knew the hell that awaited her and decided to use the painter guy who came to paint her portrait for the wedding. Was that her only option? Absolutely not but it’s the disastrous one she chose. Who was on her side after that? No one. Not even the commoners who called her ‘The Noble Prostitute’. Why? All they know is she ditched her fiancé just before the national wedding and ran off with another man whom no one knows. Even in our day, if Princess Diana had done that to Prince Charles, that scandal would have rocked the entire world. How much more then would Ines be judged in her error?
The end result is that the entire country wanted her brought back and punished. How was Valeztena to save their daughter? A life for a life. The imperial family would let her live but not the man who partook in the deed how humiliating the imperial family. He could not feign ignorance because the only reason he was at the Valeztena estate was because the crown prince commissioned artists to paint his bride. Why was Carcel there on the scene? He was a soldier who was ordered to bring the sinner back. What this terrible manhwa adaptation will not tell readers is that in this very ep. in the novel, Ines acknowledged that her actions are the ones that condemned her and the painter because she fled before the wedding and drew an innocent man who had absolutely nothing to do with her into her troubles.

I feel so bad for her brother 😭

As someone who didn’t read the novel, and given the limited perspective the story is told, readers being protective of the FL is normal, and that includes hating the brother for what the FL has experienced with him. And that is exactly as engineered by the author. We haven’t experienced his redemption arc yet, all we know is what has been told so far in this story. Being hostile and aggressive to others just because they are at different points in the story is so stupid.

@rhaenyra Thank you for this comprehensive explanation, I did not know his circumstances since I did not read the novel & I only came to this conclusion based on what I know from Ines perspective. My bad.
@Thatwascringe How old are you, 10?! You don’t have to cuss anyone because most of us only read the manhwa & infer things from reading it from a certain perspective in this case the FL’s & not from the novel. That was a mistake on my part but still there is no need for things to escalate.🤨

Luciano killed Emiliano because he was ordered to and the crown prince threatened Ines life there was nothing they could do and Luciano chose Ines she thought they killed her lover because he was poor not true ines’s brother and father wishes for nothing but happiness but because she’s in a bad space she interprets things as bad in this life as she looks back she’ll realize how much escalated her father and brother tried to help and that she wasn’t alone I mean these ppl killed the cp and wanted to start a war for her to get on here and tell me yall thought he didn’t care for ines
Thatwascringe
You guys misunderstand Luciano so bad and I’m ready to defend him at anytime you guys see him through I es eyes especially at that time when she truly believed no one was on her side but everything will slowly unravel remember when yall hated escalates guts yep everything come full circle but for now I’ll cuss any hoe wh comes for him just because yall lack reading skills and comprehending

To all the people who hate or dislike Luciano,he is a grah character,he may not dote on his sister openly like most other brothers we are familiar in manhwaverse,but he dotes on Ines in a way that is more close to real life siblings.In Ines’s second life(here I call this Second,because Ines had her first timelinw where she was married to Carcel and the two lived happily until the crown prince,the queen and Ines’s mother messed up their lives and killed Carcel in the war.Ofc,Ines is yet to remember that timeline),she was wedded to CP which is the timeline we are getting more glimpses of Ines’s miserable life.Luciano heard the CP raping Ines and sexually harassing her with his own ears right in front of their room.But he couldn’t do or say anything because thers are always guards in front of Ines’s room to spy her.When Ines killed herself,Carcel heloed Luciano kidnap CP and Luciano tortured and killed the CP.In her thurd timeline,where Ines ran off with Emiliano,Luciano had to kill Emiliano because if he didn’t,Ines would be executed first and so will the whole family.He had his own circumstances.One thing to know is that he’s always loved and cared for Ines in his own way and he’s always been a good brother to her.

@Supremedamnation
Well, we don’t get to know if Luciano killed Emiliano because he thought that he manipulated Ines.(I don’t know if there were details given in the novel ?) Personally that look he gave Ines whilst she was weeping for her killed husband tells it all. Nonetheless, if you look back on chapter 11 you will get to see that her father called her child “filthy offspring” & told Luciano that it would be better to eliminate it, before she’s getting married off to Count Almenara. Her father called it “embarassing” that she eloped with a “poor” guy & “came back” with a child (they literally took her back by force) AND all Luciano did was silently agree. Moreover Luciano said that he will take care of it. Yeah at this point I don’t really care about theories behind how he would have handled it or that he maybe wouldn’t have killed his nephew/niece etc.

go go read it run to your dear wife

I don’t remember too much of their relationship in the 2nd life but I feel like he thought emiliano swindled/manipulated her so he killed him. I just feel if he was that concerned about selling her off he would’ve killed the child too. But idk I just don’t think he was such a sweet person their first life and a complete monster the next
justchillin
I don’t like her brother. Nothing can change my mind. If he really was THAT caring & concerned for her he could have let her get away with her husband & child in her 2nd life. He is the biggest reason why she ended her life & that of her child in desperation after he killed Emiliano. He could have let her chosen to be happy & for once not care about the “honor” of their family or selling her off to a b*stard her family has seen as a suitable candidate. Even if he “tried” to help her in her 1st life, – NOTHING could redeem for that. She has done great so far with avoiding her parents whenever it’s possible & keeping her brother at arm’s length.
