Good potential, yet the execution… maybe more enjoyable to younger readers.
The FL gives me green tea vibes; I understand she is suppossed to be pityful, but it comes across as entiteled (the mansion of the duke, as fear- and powerful as the king himself, this should have been my room, had my parents not been betrayed by someone – me and my brother had lived by nothing but a rotten carrot – yet her brother is a royal knight and she a doctor… oh, but not an appreciated doctor, they said rude things!!1!) Paired with childlike and inefficient schemes to find out who harmed her family – I guess it is supposed to let her appear cute and youthful, yet comes across as not the brightest crayon in the box and is a bit annoying. Also this bullying by the shapeshifters does seem out of character for the corresponding animals. Would have been a nice smut story:)
