Ngl, i wish that Shelby and Rietta were the ship. I like their dynamic better. And frankly, one of the reasons I enjoy reading this piece is because Wynnie acts like the adult she is on the inside and the children act like children. But that makes Shelby and Wynnie a really uncomfortable pairing. I appreciate that Wynnie acknowledges their /enormous/ age gap because so few of these comics are willing to acknowledge that and even fewer treat it seriously. (also off topic but its fucking hilarious to me how sometimes I’ll read comments complaining about age gaps but they only ever complain about physical age gaps :/ fucking ridiculous. like “he’s five years older than her! she cant be with him!” and im sitting here like “bro, she’s 30 yrs old on the inside. she’s the one who’s 15 years older than him :/ what are you fucking talking about”)
ANYWAY, my point is that this work is well done in holding onto the realism of the age-gap but I just wish that Wynnie would be the one who developed a sibling relationship with Shelby, not Rietta, ya know? Like, give her a love interest that she meets after her body grows up a bit more and someone who she didn’t literally help to raise as an older sister figure :/ and just make Shelby and Rietta her precious younger siblings and the first half of this comic into a wholesome found family story… sigh… I know that my wishes will go unanswered. I had a bit of hope earlier but this chapter solidified that they’re going for endgame of Shelby x Wynnie and I might drop the comic cuz it’s just… really uncomfortable sigh. Which is a shame, because what makes it so uncomfortable is the sense of maturity from Wynnie that I really wanted to read in one of these transmigrated protagonists.
